CAHPSTONE Conversation with Nadia Grogan
Nadia Grogan has worked in the stone industry across Canada in a variety of roles, including as a conservation technician, draftsperson, project manager, and stonemason. Nadia has worked as the Asset Manager for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Canada Americas and Pacific office since 2024. From 2019 to 2024, she worked on the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project as a masonry conservator. In 2012, Nadia earned her HBSc in Archaeology, Human Biology, and Art History from the University of Toronto. During her studies, she developed an interest in built heritage conservation, which led her to obtaining a diploma in Heritage and Traditional Masonry in 2013. She earned an MSc in World Heritage Conservation through University College Dublin in 2023. Her experience in the construction industry has been multi-faceted; she has worked on residential, commercial, and heritage projects. She has hands-on experience cleaning, repairing, cutting, and installing stone, as well as managing stone installation and fabrication projects.
The Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) is a national membership-based organization that serves qualified heritage professionals in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. CAHP establishes standards of practice, shares knowledge about heritage conservation, and supports the involvement of heritage professionals whenever places of heritage value are being identified, preserved, restored and rehabilitated.
