CAHPSTONE Conversation with Roberto Chiotti
Roberto Chiotti, MTS, OAA (retired), FRAIC, LEED AP, CAHP, is founding principal emeritus of Larkin Architect Limited, an award-winning,Toronto based firm specializing in the conservation of historic churches and the design of sustainable sacred space for parishes and religious communities mostly within the Christian Tradition.
Roberto obtained an architectural degree from the University of Waterloo in 1978, he also holds a Master’s of Theology from the University of St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto) which he received in 1988. He is a Building Specialist member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals, founding member of the Canadian Green Building Council’s Greater Toronto Chapter, and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
He currently serves on the Board of the Architecture, Culture, and Spirituality Forum whose mission is to provide an international forum for scholarship, education, practice, and advocacy regarding the cultural and spiritual significance of the built environment. He also chairs the Board of the Trent Hills Arts and Heritage Centre whose mandate is to educate and increase the public’s awareness and appreciation of the diversity in the arts, culture and local heritage.

Roberto Chiotti, MTS, OAA (retraité), FRAIC, LEED AP, ACECP, est le directeur fondateur émérite de Larkin Architect Ltd, un cabinet primé de Toronto spécialisé dans la conservation des églises historiques et la conception d'espaces sacrés durables pour les paroisses et les communautés religieuses de tradition chrétienne.
Roberto a obtenu son diplôme d'architecte à l'université de Waterloo en 1978. Il est également titulaire d'une maîtrise en théologie de l'université St. Michael's College (université de Toronto) qu'il a obtenue en 1988. Il est membre de l'Association canadienne des professionnels du patrimoine en tant que spécialiste du bâtiment, membre fondateur de la section du Grand Toronto du Conseil canadien du bâtiment durable et membre de l'Institut royal d'architecture du Canada.
Il siège actuellement au conseil d'administration du Forum Architecture, Culture et Spiritualité, dont la mission est de fournir un forum international pour la recherche, l'éducation, la pratique et la défense de la signification culturelle et spirituelle de l'environnement bâti. Il préside également le conseil d'administration du Centre Trent Hills arts et héritage, dont le mandat est d'éduquer et de sensibiliser le public à la diversité des arts, de la culture et du patrimoine local.
The Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) is a national membership-based organization that serves qualified heritage professionals in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. CAHP establishes standards of practice, shares knowledge about heritage conservation, and supports the involvement of heritage professionals whenever places of heritage value are being identified, preserved, restored and rehabilitated.
